Emerald Group Publishing announces key strategic and high profile appointments -

Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing has made a number of key strategic and high profile appointments, as it continues to heavily invest in its academic Books programme.

Dr. Philippa Grand, previously Editorial Director, Palgrave Social Sciences at Springer Nature, has been appointed as Editorial Director, Social Science Books & Publisher, Sociology, Criminology & Social Policy.

Pete Baker, formerly Editorial Director, Business, Finance and Economics, Professional and Scholarly Division at Palgrave Macmillan and Executive Editor at Wiley, will head up Emerald's Scholarly and Professional Business, Finance and Economics Books publishing division.

In addition, Jenny McCall has joined as a Publisher responsible for commissioning Geography, Environmental Studies, Health and Social Care, Media and Communication Studies and Urban Studies for Emerald's book publishing division, while Amy Potter is Emerald's new Head of Books Marketing.

These appointments follow Emerald's highly publicised recruitment of Caitlin Cornish as Head of Books Publishing earlier this year.
