The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has released the third edition of Stimson's Introduction to Airborne Radar. This new book is a significant addition to the IET radar book series and is published under SciTech Publishing (an imprint of the IET).
Fully revised and updated from the previous editions authored by the late George W. Stimson, this new book offers a complete technical presentation of modern airborne radar principles of the last 15 - 20 years.
All chapters have been modernised to reflect the latest developments in the industry including electronic scanning antennas and high resolution imaging, bringing the content in line with current technologies. Two new sections have also been added including six chapters on electronic warfare, and seven chapters on special topics and advanced techniques.
The third edition has been written and community reviewed by a team of well-respected experts in the field of radar, including Prof Hugh Griffiths, Prof Chris Baker and consultant Dave Adamy.
Prof Griffiths was the 2012 recipient of the £300,000 IET A F Harvey Engineering Research Prize and is the THALES/Royal Academy of Engineering Chair of RF Sensors at University College London.
Covering both core radar principles and advanced radar techniques, this is a beneficial reference text for all levels of radar personnel, both new and experienced such as; radar and general defence engineers, military pilots and students studying radar, aviation and aeronautics.
