The International Council for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI) will convene in Tokyo, October 20-21, 2014 for its Annual Conference hosted by the Japanese Science and Technology Agency – JST. Renowned experts from Japan and abroad will explore themes such as Open Platforms for Data Sharing, New STI related Technologies/Services, and Analysis and Evaluation based on STI (for Innovation). Held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo, the event will welcome an international audience of delegates from government bodies, research institutes, business enterprises, and other information stakeholders for two days of networking opportunities and thought- provoking discussions around the three thematic axes of the conference. These include: Session 1 - Open Platform for Data Sharing: Information Framework, Big Data, Open Access and its Implications; Session 2 - New STI related Technologies/Services: RDF, Ontology, LOD, e-Publishing – related tech/ser, Author Identification, DOI and Other Identification Technologies; and Session 3 - Analysis and Evaluation based on STI (for Innovation): ROI in R&D, Foresight, Evidence-based Policy (making), Human Resource Development.
