Nominations now open for HIMSS Awards and Scholarships -

HIMSS, a cause-based, global enterprise producing health IT thought leadership, education, events, market research and media services around the world, is now accepting nominations for awards and scholarships that recognise significant professional contributions to the field of health IT. Online nominations for both awards and scholarships will be accepted through Friday, October 10.

Award recipients are volunteers and leaders in the field who have contributed to the improvement of healthcare through the use of information and management systems. In 2014, a total of 12 awards will be given in categories such as industry service; HIMSS service; publications; and chapters.

The HIMSS Foundation and HIMSS chapters annually awards scholarships to HIMSS student members who have achieved academic excellence and have potential as future leaders in the healthcare information and management systems industry. The 2014 scholarships include four sponsored by the HIMSS Foundation and three HIMSS chapter scholarships.

Founded in 1961, HIMSS encompasses more than 52,000 individuals, of which more than two-thirds work in healthcare provider, governmental and not-for-profit organizations across the globe, plus over 600 corporations and 250 not-for-profit partner organizations, that share this cause. HIMSS, headquartered in Chicago, serves the global health IT community with additional offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
