Open access journal publisher PLOS has announced that Jenny Machida has joined the PLOS Board of Directors, effective October 21, 2016.
According to Board Chairman Gary Ward, Machida's deep business knowledge with a focus on strategy, growth and organisation performance will greatly contribute to PLOS as it strives to build a better publishing experience for authors in 2017 and beyond.
Machida is currently a Managing Director at IMB Development Corporation, a private equity investment and operating firm. Prior to IMB, she co-founded and led business development at a medical technology start-up company called Sevident and helped to build out an academic research and advisory center at Columbia University focused on advancing diversity in higher education.
