Using the enhanced Recommendations and Deselection reports in Intota™ Assessment, libraries can simply compare by subject area their collection to RCL core titles, quickly determine a match to their current holdings, and easily identify alternative formats in their collection or in market.
RCL's recommendations are specific to a title at the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) level. This 13-digit number establishes a unique identifier for every edition published, regardless of format (hardcover, paper, audio, "e," etc.). Until now, the process of matching all formats of a core title to a library's current holdings was manual and time consuming.
Powered with authoritative bibliographic data and enriched metadata from Books In Print®, the enhanced reports from Intota Assessment give libraries a more comprehensive view of their holdings. The process of matching RCL core title recommendations to current holdings is essentially simplified. The new 'Title Linking' functionality will now reveal if a core title is held by the library in a different format than what is recommended by RCL.
