Dr. Kathleen Murphy White named new Editor-in-Chief of Quality Management in Health Care -

Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, US, has announced that Dr. Kathleen Murphy White has been named Editor-in-Chief of Quality Management in Health Care (QMHC), a peer-reviewed journal of evidence, ideas, and experience in improving health care quality and patient outcomes.

Dr. White is an Associate Professor at The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, Baltimore, with a joint faculty appointment in the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business. The appointment is effective with the current issue of QMHC.

Quality Management in Health Care covers new research tools, methods, and results aimed at improving health care delivery and patient outcomes. It provides an international forum for discussion among all stakeholders involved in patient care and ongoing quality management. The journal is published quarterly, in print and online.

In addition to her academic appointments, Dr. White is a clinical nurse specialist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was a member of the collaborative team that developed the award-winning Johns Hopkins Nursing evidence-based practice model and guidelines. She brings extensive experience in health care practice policy and leadership at the hospital, state, national and international levels.

Dr. White's selection as Editor-in-Chief heralds the next step in the evolution of QMHC, with plans for a fresh new design along with new columns and content and an updated look.
