Wolters Kluwer Health upgrades Lippincott Advisor to help long-term care facilities improve nursing care planning -

Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that it has further bolstered the use of Lippincott Advisor in the long-term care (LTC) setting. The company has added a new component to the product designed to help LTC nurses and clinicians develop better resident care plans used to guide treatment. Lippincott Advisor is a leading online clinical decision-support solution used by nurses and clinicians at the bedside in hospitals and healthcare institutions.

A total of 247 LTC nursing care plan entries — one for each of the LTC-specific diseases and conditions included in Lippincott Advisor — will be added by next August. The first 62 entries are available immediately that target 18 disease state categories, including cardiovascular disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, psychiatric disorders and respiratory disorders.

LTC nurses can create a personalised care plan for each resident using evidence-based information and protocols directly from Lippincott Advisor. Clinicians can select a disease matching the resident's diagnosis and personalise the care plan to match the resident's symptoms, identify the most effective interventions and set reasonable expected outcomes that match the resident's abilities. The resulting individualised care plan can be printed or emailed.

Lippincott Advisor includes more than 10,000 collective entries of critical, evidence-based information spanning diseases & treatments, diagnostic tests, drugs, signs & symptoms, nursing care plans, patient education, Core Measures, hospital-acquired conditions, national guidelines and Sentinel Events. Using a proprietary synoptic search, Lippincott Advisor provides immediate, evidence-based answers to clinicians' most pressing health information questions.

Lippincott Advisor, part of the Lippincott Solutions suite, is available as a group subscription to organisations owning nursing homes and other long-term care environments as well as hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The product is accessible from any Internet-enabled device, including PCs and mobile devices such as iPad and Android tablets.
