Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the University of Haifa's Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library is the first university library in Israel to go live with the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform. Alma replaced the Aleph® integrated library system and is integrated with the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution.
The Haifa University Library is known as an innovator among Israeli libraries. The Library is a long time Aleph user, and so it was a natural step for the University to move to Alma to automate and streamline the library's operations for print, electronic, and digital materials. As a cloud-based solution, Alma reduces overhead and enables the University of Haifa staff to direct their resources toward supporting users in learning, research, and teaching.
The University of Haifa's Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library has a worldwide reputation as a leading library in Israel and is known for the quality of its collections, technologies, service, and outstanding professional staff.
The University of Haifa Library, which houses over two million items, offers its varied audiences a wide range of library resources: an extensive, growing collection of printed materials and digital assets (electronic databases, electronic journals, and digital images), supported by advanced storage and retrieval technology; and reference and instructional services.
