Dr. Steven Black will assume editorial duties for The Paediatric Infectious Disease Journal (PIDJ), the official journal of The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases.
The January 2017, issue of PIDJ, the first under Dr. Black's direction, has been posted on the journal website: www.pidj.com. Dr. Black is Professor of Paediatrics in the Centre for Global Health at the University of Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Ohio.
The leading journal for paediatric infectious disease clinicians and researchers, PIDJ takes a multidisciplinary perspective on infectious diseases of childhood. Topics of special interest include paediatric HIV, evaluation and surveillance of vaccines, and the epidemiology and evidence-based management of paediatric infectious diseases. PIDJ is a critical source of original data and expert insights on new and emerging infections worldwide.
Although a subspecialty journal, PIDJ is projected as an important resource for all clinicians and researchers involved with paediatric infectious diseases.
In 2017, PIDJ celebrates its 35th anniversary of continuous publication. On its first issue in 1982, PIDJ was the first peer-reviewed journal to focus exclusively on infectious diseases of children and infants.
