HP and Frankfurt Book Fair to host Scientific Publishing Innovation Day in the run up to London Book Fair -

HP, in association with the Frankfurt Book Fair and the International Association of STM Publishers, will for the first time host an exclusive half day forum in London for STM (Science, Technical & Medical) publishers, printers and industry thought leaders from around the world. The event will take place right before the London Book Fair on April 13 and highlight how content and technology can best interplay to create new products, services and revenue streams. Participation is free of charge.

The Scientific Publishing Innovation Day agenda is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of the most important trends that are currently shaping and driving the STM publishing industry. The programme will outline the main challenges and opportunities STM publishers are facing today and give insights into successful strategic positioning and realignment. It features three main hubs focusing on strategic issues, products and delivery of content. Speakers include James Milne (VP and Global Publishing Director at John Wiley and Sons), Udi Chatow, WW Graphics Solutions Business, Marketing Manager at HP, Gabriel Hughes, Vice President, Web Analytics at Elsevier, Stephanie Dawson, CEO Science Open, and Dae-Ho Kim, general manager KSI.

The Scientific Publishing Innovation Day will be hosted by Holger Volland, Vice President Media Industries at Frankfurt Book Fair, and the event continues a successful association with HP that has been ongoing since 2013. Thought-provoking case studies and best practice example will encourage delegates to open their eyes to new business opportunities and help them understand how innovative developments, such as customisation and interactive technologies, can benefit businesses and serve end users. Participants will also be given advice how to unlock new revenue streams by expanding into broader markets and using existing content to create new products and services.

The programme will feature expert industry speakers and a mix of case study presentations and panel discussions. There will also be a chance to network with industry players from around the world, including major STM publishers and academic societies, and connect with innovative print service providers at an evening drinks reception.

The Scientific Publishing Innovation Day will take place on April 13 from 12-6 pm at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel, 68 - 86 Cromwell Road, London, SW7 5BT

Attendance is free of charge but places for this event are limited. To secure your participation register here until April 9, 2015 https://starcite.smarteventscloud.com/hp/STMInnovationDay and stay updated with further programme and speaker announcements.
