STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of the sixth edition of Murray & Nadel's Textbook of Respiratory Medicine, 2-Volume Set.
Similar to its previous editions, Murray & Nadel's Textbook of Respiratory Medicine is a comprehensive reference on all aspects of pulmonary medicine and the most definitive content on basic science, diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of the full spectrum of respiratory diseases. The new edition will be showcased at the American Thoracic Society (ATS) 2015 Conference held in Denver, Colo., May 15-20, 2015.
While Murray & Nadel's Textbook of Respiratory Medicine remains a staple textbook for fellows to practicing physicians, the sixth edition offers significant updates including more than 2,000 figures and over 200 video and audio files. The new edition also includes an expanded sleep section and new chapters in Critical Care covering Noninvasive Ventilation (NIV) and Extracorporeal Support of Gas Exchange (ECMO), diagnostic techniques including Invasive Diagnostic Imaging and Image-Guided Interventions and Positron Emission Tomography, and Therapeutic Bronchoscopy highlighting the interventional role of pulmonologists.
Recently three of the editors for Murray & Nadel's Textbook of Respiratory Medicine sixth edition were recognized with prestigious honors.
Both Dr. John Murray and Dr. Jay Nadel were recognized by the American College of Chest Physicians in 'Giants in Chest Medicine,' a series in CHEST journal, which highlights the achievements of individuals who have made groundbreaking contributions within the fields of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
Dr. Joel D. Ernst was honored by NYU Langone Medical Center for his outstanding research on April 13, 2015, with his Dean's lecture on "Immunity to a 3-Million-Year-Old Pathogen: Tuberculosis in the 21st Century"
