Publisher Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers, has announced the launch of a new peer-reviewed, open access journal, Case Reports in Pancreatic Cancer. The journal will deliver authoritative case reports on all aspects of pancreatic cancer diagnosis, management, treatment, and outcomes.
Pancreatic cancer rates have risen steadily for several years, and the disease results in more than 300,000 deaths globally each year. It is the fourth most common cause of cancer deaths in the US, and has a five-year survival rate of less than 25 percent. There are large disparities in pancreatic cancer diagnosis and survival rates, with a disease risk of over 50 percent greater for African Americans.
Launching in fall 2015, the journal will be the premier open source for clinical reports on the disease, and will publish under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY) license to ensure broad dissemination and participation.
