International Association for Plant Taxonomy to preserve e-journal with Portico -

Digital preservation specialist Portico has announced that the International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT) will preserve TAXON with Portico, ensuring that the e-journal will be secure and available into the future.

IAPT is dedicated to organismal biodiversity the extent, recognition, organization, evolution, and naming of plants and fungi, both living and fossil. TAXON, its bi-monthly journal, is devoted to systematic and evolutionary biology with emphasis on plants and fungi.

Portico is a digital preservation service provided by ITHAKA, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to help the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways. Created in 2002, Portico was founded to build a sustainable digital archive to serve the academic community and to enable publishers and libraries to feel secure and to realize tangible benefits as they transitioned to greater reliance on digital content.
