The NFAIS 2016 Annual Conference scheduled for February 21-23, 2016, experts on data and data management to deliver keynote addresses -

Three leading, global thinkers in the fields of data, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) will deliver the slate of keynote addresses at the National Federation of Advanced Information Service's (NFAISTM) 58th Annual Conference, February 21-23, 2016 at Philadelphia's Hyatt Regency at the Bellevue.

The NFAIS 2016 Annual Conference theme, 'Data Sparks Discovery of Tomorrow's Global Knowledge,' centers on managing data and establishing appropriate policies; maintaining privacy and intellectual property rights; text and data mining; predictive modeling; new software, systems and analytic tools; the globalization and internationalization of content; AI and more. The 2016 conference aims to help attendees understand what to expect and how to prepare solid foundations for tomorrow's data-driven, global knowledge standard.

NFAIS's kick-off Keynote speaker is Steven Miller, Data Maestro, Global Leader Academic Programs & Outreach for IBM Analytics Group. Miller, who will address conference participants on February 21, leads academic programs for IBM Analytics Group with a primary focus on collaborating with universities to build the pipeline of talent needed by data-driven organisations. His work spans data and analytics literacy for every student to emerging specialist roles such as the data scientist and data engineer.

The annual NFAIS Members-only Luncheon features Simon Inger, owner of Simon Inger Consulting, as luncheon keynote speaker. Inger, who will speak on February 22, has worked in the journals industry since 1987 when he joined B.H. Blackwell, the Oxford-based subscription agent. In 1994, he founded CatchWord, the world's first journal platform service provider where he led the company through to its acquisition by Ingenta in 2001 (now Publishing Technology). Since 2002, Simon has led a consulting company, specializing in services to publishers, libraries, service providers and intermediaries in the scholarly publishing arena.

The NFAIS Conference Closing Keynote speaker is Stephane Bura, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of London-based Weave.ai. Bura, who will speak on February 23, has worked in AI and interaction design for more than 25 years. He was the creative director of a video game studio and consulted on game design for companies around the world. He co-founded two AI startups, both with the goal of transforming the relationship users have with their devices: Storybricks, which built tools for game developers to generate emotional connections in players, and Weave.ai, which proposes a new model for connecting data, contexts and interactions.

Registration for the NFAIS 2016 Annual Conference is open with Early Bird rates set to close on January 8, 2016. In addition, the Conference Hotel's limited block of rooms are available for special discounted rates through February 1, 2016.
