F1000, a provider of services to biomedical researchers to support the discovery, writing and publication of new scientific findings, has announced that one million references have been loaded on to F1000Workspace – a research collaboration, reference management and authoring platform for scientists – since it was launched just six months ago.
F1000Workspace is a suite of tools designed to assist biomedical researchers when writing research articles and grant applications, collecting and managing references and collaborating with co-authors.
It is run by F1000 (Faculty of 1000), which is powered by a Faculty of over 11,000 leading experts in biology and medicine. This Faculty provides expert article recommendations as part of the sister service, F1000Prime, these recommendations are integrated into F1000Workspace through a powerful learning algorithm.
Adoption of the new service – one of the first to offer a fully cloud-based platform – has been strong with thousands of researchers already signed-up across top universities and research institutions.
