Altmetrics data provider Altmetric is hosting a webinar exploring the value of altmetrics for journal editors. The webinar is scheduled for March 30, 2016, from 3pm BST / 10am EDT.
Altmetrics, or alternative metrics, are increasingly being adopted by publishers, funders and institutions as a new way of monitoring and reporting on the online activity surrounding published research. In this webinar, Altmetric will explore the opportunities that these metrics offer for journal editors – including an introduction to how the data are collected and should be interpreted.
Attendees will hear from guest speakers who will share their own experience using altmetrics to increase the visibility of their journal online, and provide some top tips for how you can start using altmetrics at your journal.
Hosted by Phill Jones (@phillbjones), Head of Publisher Outreach at Digital Science, confirmed guest speakers include Danielle Padula (@Djpadula5), Community Engagement, Scholastica and Paul Trevorrow, Executive Journals Editor, Wiley.
Interested parties may register and join the conversation online using the hashtag #AltmetricsForEds
