The London Book Fair has announced a comprehensive schedule of academic and scholarly publishing debates and talks at this year's event, taking place from April 12 – 14, 2016.
LBF, now in its 45th year, has welcomed steadily increasing numbers of scholarly publishing delegates through its doors since the launch of its Academic Zone in 2012, its show floor theatre The Faculty, and its dedicated academic publishing conference The Research and Scholarly Publishing Forum, back for a second year.
Forming part of the 31st International Publishing Congress, The London Book Fair's half-day scholarly publishing conference is back for its second year. Curated by the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and the Publishers Association (PA), and sponsored by the Copyright Clearance Center and Knowledgespeak, a comprehensive news service published by Scope e-Knowledge Center for the STM information industry, the four session programme will examine the trends and challenges facing research communication.
This year the conference will welcome high profile speakers such as Derk Haank, CEO of Springer, Dr Sijbolt J Noorda, the President of the Association of Dutch Universities, Stephen Barr, President of SAGE International, and Wiley's Andrew Tein.
Launched in 2014, The Faculty @ LBF is where the academic publishing community convenes to share and discuss issues relevant to the sector. The show floor theatre plays host to a comprehensive programme of panel debates and In Conversation with sessions, curated by the ALPSP in partnership with sponsor Ingenta.
Highlights from this year's programme include the inaugural Ask the Chefs Live session brought to you by SSP Scholarly Kitchen, discussions around the latest developments in Open Access, talks on trends in journal publishing, and panel debates on discoverability, among others.
Brought to you by Scope e-Knowledge Center, a world-leading provider of metadata services, abstraction, indexing, entity extraction and knowledge organisation models (Taxonomies, Thesauri and Ontologies).
