Three UK universities select SirsiDynix solution for unique collaboration -

Library automation solutions provider SirsiDynix has announced the selection of the BLUEcloud Campus Library Services Platform by three UK universities in partnership. Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will share a Unified Library Management System (ULMS) that will improve the student experience and support collaborative working. Following a vigorous joint selection process, the partners have chosen SirsiDynix to realise their shared ULMS vision that will support effective, efficient and sustainable student-centred services.

Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent are centres of excellence, nationally and internationally recognised for teaching and research excellence, serving over 70,000 students across a network of 12 sites in the UK, overseas and online. For over 10 years, the three universities have operated a hugely successful shared campus with over 9,000 students at the historic Chatham Maritime site. At the heart of the shared campus, known as Universities at Medway, is the award winning Grade 2 listed Drill Hall Library, which will showcase the capabilities of the SirsiDynix system, bringing library services onto a single shared system for the first time.

The Universities will migrate away from Aleph, Alto and Voyager over the next year, going live on SirsiDynix Symphony in the summer of 2017. The Universities have also selected the SirsiDynix Enterprise resource discovery and self-service system with integrated EBSCO Discovery Service to provide better access to their digital and physical collections, which together with Symphony supports better collaborative working and improved resource sharing. SirsiDynix and EBSCO have worked closely together to streamline the discovery experience for users, giving libraries the best options to provide their students better, easier access to the content they need. Through Enterprise, students are able to access the physical and digital content of their library's catalogue within a single search.

The BLUEcloud Analytics business intelligence software will support decision making through increased data intelligence and learning analytics; BLUEcloud eRM will provide a common platform for e-resource management, and BLUEcloud Lists will aid discovery of course reading in support of learning and teaching.
