IFLA and De Gruyter appoint Janine Schmidt as Editor of the IFLA Publication Series -

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and academic publisher De Gruyter has announced the appointment of Janine Schmidt as Editor of the IFLA Publication Series. Janine takes on the position from Michael Heaney who has stepped down after successfully steering many works to publication.

Janine brings extensive experience to the position having led and managed libraries in Australia and Canada. She has focused on the development of client-centred plans and strategies, innovative applications of information technology and the refurbishment of physical facilities. She has been involved in ALIA and IFLA and was an editor for the recent book High quality design on a low budget: New library buildings (IFLA Publications; Nr 171, 2016). Janine has published and presented widely and undertakes consultancy services in the areas of strategic planning, library design and leadership training.

Janine will also assume the role of Series Editor of Global Studies in Libraries and Information, previously led by Ian Johnson.
