Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, and the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) have announced that the integration of the Ex Libris Alma® library management service and Ex Libris LegantoSM reading list solution with the Digital Content Store (DCS), CLA's coursepack management tool, has been enhanced. The DCS is a rights, technology, and content platform for higher education institutions (HEIs).
The DCS has at its core searchable repository of licensed digitised PDF extracts that have been uploaded by HEIs and can be accessed by other DCS users who need the same resource. The integration of Alma and Leganto with the DCS brings significant benefits to mutual Ex Libris and CLA customers throughout the UK. Instructors or librarians can assign extracts to courses, and students are then able to access the content via a secure link.
The Alma integration with the DCS enables Alma librarians to easily check ownership through one platform that streamlines their access to previously digitised materials when fulfilling requests for course readings. At the same time, the integration of Leganto with the DCS allows Leganto users to benefit from the automatic insertion of secure content links in Leganto course reading lists. With this streamlined workflow, teaching staff and librarians save time, benefit from a reduced administrative burden, and support teaching excellence.
