Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has announced that it will publish Sociological Research Online (SRO) in partnership with the British Sociological Association (BSA).
Published quarterly since 1996, SRO is an online only journal publishing high-quality research pertaining to sociological enquiry. It is a vital space revealing the importance of how sociological research is crucial to understanding contemporary social issues.
Since 1990, the journal has been published on a stand-alone website by a consortium of the universities of Surrey and Stirling, SAGE and the BSA. The two universities have stepped down and the journal will now be published on SAGE Journals. SAGE and the BSA will work with the Editors and Editorial Board to develop and support the journal's growth moving forwards.
The acquisition of SRO marks the fourth journal published by a partnership of SAGE and the BSA which includes the titles: Sociology; Work, Employment and Society; and Cultural Sociology.
