KUAS to use Ex Libris' Alma library services and Primo discovery to support collaboration and strengthen integration of university libraries -

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) has become the first university in Taiwan to choose the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform. Alma and the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution will be replacing a number of the library's current systems, including an integrated library system, electronic resource management system, and discovery system.

KUAS chose Alma and Primo primarily to optimise the integration of workflows between libraries located on two separate campuses. Another factor in the decision was the Alma platform's support for collaboration with partner libraries, a major element of the university's strategic vision. The Alma and Primo cloud-based technology and security meet the high standards that KUAS requires of its vendors.

National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) consists of four colleges offering top-quality undergraduate and graduate programs that serve more than 13,000 students. KUAS was awarded the Plan for Developing Technological University Paradigms grant by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, which, along with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, has established more than 10 research centers at KUAS. The school will soon be incorporating two other universities into its system, which will then become the largest technological university in Taiwan.
