Publisher John Wiley and Sons, Inc. and the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) have announced the launch of a new international, open access peer-reviewed publication, JOR Spine. JOR Spine will be joining the Journal of Orthopaedic Research in the ORS’ publications portfolio and will publish high-quality research on all aspects of orthopaedic research related to the spine. The first issue will publish in January 2018.
The new journal features a world-class editorial board led by Dr. Mauro Alini, Head of Musculoskeletal Regeneration AO Research Institute, Davos, Switzerland, Dr. Robert L. Mauck, Mary Black Ralston Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery Professor of Bioengineering, Director, McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Daisuke Sakai, Associate Professor at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Tokai University School of Medicine in Kanagawa, Japan.
JOR Spine will publish cutting-edge research, selected through a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer review process. The journal will utilize an open access format and will be very well supported by Wiley, the journal's editorial team and by the ORS.
JOR Spine is dedicated to serve the spine research community by offering a platform focusing on basic and translational orthopaedic research of the spine. The new journal will publish articles, reviews, short communications, and perspectives in topic areas including the biological basis of development, growth, aging and degeneration, biomechanical and novel imaging methods, mechano-biology, biomaterial applications, and pre-clinical and clinical studies based on novel preventative and regenerative approaches.
The journal is now accepting submission and plans to publish the first issue online in January of 2018.
