Academic publisher Taylor & Francis has announced the launch of a new open access journal which aims to revolutionise our understanding of the Earth's systems. Big Earth Data, published with the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), encourages researchers across a range of disciplines that are using a growing body of large data sets to make new discoveries in Earth Science.
Big Earth Data joins Taylor & Francis' respected Earth Science program, including the International Journal of Digital Earth, enhancing existing offerings in this area. The purpose of the society is to promote international cooperation around the 'Digital Earth' vision - an extensive virtual representation of the Earth, and enable Digital Earth technology to play a role in economic and social sustainable development, environmental protection, disaster mitigation, natural resources conservation and the improvement of human beings' living standards.
Prof. Huadong Guo, President of the International Society for Digital Earth, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of Big Earth Data.
