The National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS™), a global non-profit membership organisation serving the information services community, has announced its Board of Directors slate for 2018-2019. The new NFAIS Board assembled for its first meeting at the NFAIS 2018 Annual Conference, on March 2, in Alexandria, VA.
As part of the new Board, Eric Swenson begins his term as NFAIS President for the coming year. Swenson currently is the Director of Product Management for Elsevier's abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, Scopus. Previously, he managed Elsevier's search & discovery platforms, the SciVerse Hub, Scirus and SciTopics, respectively.
In addition, prior to joining Elsevier in 2011, Swenson was the Director of Program Management for the Hearst Corporation's Interactive Media division and an independent consultant serving the new product development and research needs of entities ranging from AT&T Labs Research to startups, interactive agencies, inventors, musicians, investigative journalists, photographers and fine artists. Swenson succeeds Peter Simon, Vice President, NewBank Inc., as NFAIS President.
