STM publishing company SLACK Incorporated has announced that effective with its April 2018 issue, Psychiatric Annals will introduce both a new format and a new editor to the journal. Dr. Andrew A. Nierenberg, formerly associate editor, has been named Editor.
Dr. Nierenberg is currently the Director, Dauten Family Center for Bipolar Treatment Innovation, Massachusetts General Hospital; and a Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Nierenberg succeeds Dr. Jan Fawcett, the Journal's Editor for more than 24 years. Dr. Fawcett will become an Editor Emeriti, joining Drs. Howard P. Rome, Francis J. Braceland, and Dana L. Farnsworth.
In conjunction with Dr. Nierenberg's appointment, Psychiatric Annals will also debut many new features in its monthly print and online issues. These include a dynamic mix of peer-reviewed integrative and systematic review articles, original research and compelling case reports with in-depth diagnosis and treatment discussion; peer-tested content, featuring the most highly trafficked news headlines and physician perspective from Healio.com/Psychiatry; an updated design in print; and a new Editorial Board, including CME Editor, Lenard Adler, MD, of NYU Langone Health.
As it has since its inception, the journal will continue to offer single-topic, high-interest clinical review articles for CME credit on Healio.com/Psychiatry/Education-Lab.
