Medical knowledge provider BMJ and the Ministry of Health recently held a joint conference on Clinical Decision Support Initiative for healthcare professionals in Azerbaijan.
The programme provides over 2,000 healthcare professionals with evidence-based online tools, including BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning, to improve the skills and knowledge on differential diagnosis, treatment and management of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. The programme is supported by the Ministry of Health (MoH), which has also accredited BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning resources for the purpose of continuing medical education and professional development in Azerbaijan.
To celebrate the initiative, a joint conference by BMJ and MoH was held at the Public Health & Reform Center in Baku. The event shared information about the early successes in the implementation of the CDS initiative followed by an award ceremony acknowledging BMJ champions and key supporters. The event was attended by 70 representatives from industry and government, World Bank and the Global Fund as well as health professionals from 23 medical facilities.
Clinicians in Azerbaijan now have access to the best tools to develop their knowledge and skills, practice evidence-based medicine, and improve outcomes for their patients.
