Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that Australia's Southern Cross University will be joining the Ex Libris Esploro™ early adopter program. The Esploro research services solution will facilitate the capture, management, and dissemination of the university's research output and data across all disciplines and consolidate information about researchers, their publications, and their data. The seamless integration of the Esploro service with both the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution, along with the Esploro service's interoperability with other academic systems, will help the university increase the efficiency of its library staff, research administrators, and scholars.
Southern Cross University sought a platform that would be a good match for the Australian academic environment and their institution, both now and in the future. By enabling the University to automatically harvest research data that is currently entered manually, the Esploro service will save time for the staff and provide more accurate metadata. As a result, research assets will be more easily discoverable. Esploro will also help researchers showcase their achievements to prospective research partners, funders, and the scholarly community, contributing to greater recognition of research activity at the University.
As a participant in the Esploro early adopter program, Southern Cross will be closely involved in providing product feedback and shaping the Esploro solution. The first release will be available to early adopters in 2019.
