Water Environment Federation appoints Dr. Zhen (Jason) He as new Editor-in-Chief of Water Environment Research -

The Water Environment Federation has announced Dr. Zhen (Jason) He as the new editor-in-chief of Water Environment Research (WER).

Dr. Zhen is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and directs the university's Environmental Biotechnology and Bioenergy Laboratory. Dr. Zhen has published more than 180 journal papers and has received three granted US patents.

As editor-in-chief of WER, Dr. Zhen will oversee the peer review process to ensure that high-quality research is published in the journal and solicit papers from preeminent researchers. Dr. Zhen will also oversee WER's associate editors.

In addition to Dr. Zhen's appointment as Editor-in-Chief, WER appointed seven Associate Editors: Nicole Fahrenfeld, Rutgers University; Xiaohong Guan, Tongji University; Veera Gnaneswar Gude, Mississippi State University; Chih-Ming (Jimmy) Kao, National Sun Yat-Sen University; Eakalak Khan, University of Nevada Las Vegas; Juan Antonio Baeza Labat, Autonomous University of Barcelona; and Dongye (Don) Zhao, Auburn University.

Published since 1928, WER is an international multidisciplinary water resource management journal for the dissemination of fundamental and applied research in all scientific and technical areas related to water quality and resource recovery. WER aims to foster communication and interdisciplinary research between water sciences/engineering and related fields such as environmental toxicology, agriculture, public and occupational health, microbiology, and ecology. In addition to original research articles, short communications, case studies, reviews, and perspectives are encouraged.
