The London Book Fair announces 2019 seminar line-up -

The London Book Fair has unveiled its full 2019 programme, spanning seminars, panel debates, awards, author events, live podcasts and much more.

From audiobooks to ageism, rights to refugee education, and from feminism to fake news, this year's comprehensive programme at LBF provides insight into every aspect of the book world. New for 2019 is the live podcasting recording from a range of popular podcasters at The Fireside Chats @ The Podcast Theatre.

Speakers at The London Book Fair include: Dr Alaa Hamdon (University of Mosul) leading a session on the work being done to rebuild the libraries that IS destroyed; authors Clara Ng and Reda Gaudiamo who will join Judith Robinson to discuss why we emphasise morality in children's fiction; the 'Killed Covers' hosts providing a rare insight into book cover design, using real life case studies to show how the selection process works; and Guzel Yakhina, Russian bestselling author, taking part in a panel discussing gender in publishing, and how stereotyping and misconceptions can impact language translation.

Authors taking part in The London Book Fair 2019 include: Karin Slaughter, Ian McEwan, Caryl Philips, Seno Gumira Ajidarma, Holly Bourne, Deborah Moggach, Sharlene Teo, Caroline O’Donoghue, Daisy Buchanan and many more. Raymond Antrobus will be this year's Poet of the Fair, while David McKee will be attending as Illustrator of the Fair as part of the 30 year celebration of the Elmer book series.

This year's Market Focus country is Indonesia, and the Fair will offer a window into publishing in Indonesia, with sessions covering a wide range of themes, including translation, gender and diversity, the significance of the rural-urban divide, the importance of traditions and memory, and the future of Indonesian publishing.
