Information technology has enabled the once confined print scholarly content to move beyond pages and library walls. The content can be accessed through Internet services provided by public libraries and academic institutions. However, easy availability of electronic data has resulted in increased information abuse or theft of databases. The paper released by the National Federation of Abstracting and Information Services (NFAIS) suggests approaches to protect online data.
