The IFLA sections of Health and Biosciences Libraries and Science and Technology Libraries are conducting a conference on August 13, 2005 in Oslo. Various events of the seminar will be chaired by Bruce Madge of the IFLA Health and Biosciences Libraries Section, Julia Gelfand of the IFLA Science and Technology Libraries Section and Arne Jakobsson of University of Oslo Library, Library of Medicine and Health Sciences. The seminar will debate on issues of scholarly communication and open access, archiving of NIH (the US’ National Institutes of Health) research findings, publication policy of CERN, the research institutions that support open access, current technologies, Oxford University’s open access initiatives, current trends in scholarly communication and future perspectives of institutional repositories.
