Newcastle University has announced the launch of their institutional data repository, data.ncl.ac.uk, to make research data from the university searchable, discoverable, and citable.
Research data uploaded to the repository will be marked for indexing in Google Scholar and Google Dataset Search and will receive its own DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for citing.
The repository will host research outputs from the university on a custom Newcastle University domain.
Researchers can upload any file type and data.ncl.ac.uk will preview over 1,200 file types in the browser for maximum engagement. The university - as well as researchers - can track the impact of their research data with detailed information on views, downloads, and citations.
