O. Oliver Anderson, President & CEO of Anderson Publishing, Ltd., has announced the appointment of Dr. Erin Simon Schwartz as the new Editor-in-Chief of Applied Radiology.
Dr. Schwartz is a Pediatric Neuroradiologist and Medical Director of the Lurie Family Foundations' Magnetoencephalography Imaging Center in the Department of Radiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Schwartz has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of Applied Radiology since 2007.
Dr. Schwartz succeeds Dr. Stuart E. Mirvis, who led the editorial team of Applied Radiology since 2001 and has recently retired from clinical practice at The University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Schwartz’s areas of clinical expertise include pediatric neuroradiology and magnetoencephalography, and the imaging of patients with epilepsy, congenital central nervous system malformations, as well as fetal MRI. Her current research interests focus on patient safety, quality improvement, and physician wellness. In 2015, The Foundation of the American Society of Neuroradiology, along with the American College of Radiology and the American Association for Women Radiologists selected Dr. Schwartz as recipient of their annual Women in Neuroradiology Leadership Award.
