Middlesex University opts for Solutionpath and Ex Libris campusM to deliver classroom attendance and engagement solution -

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, and Solutionpath Ltd has announced that Middlesex University has chosen the Solutionpath StREAM learning analytics platform and Ex Libris campusM mobile app to provide learning analytics and attendance solutions that are the first of their kind in the market.

Middlesex University issued a tender in early 2019 for a solution that would enable the University to achieve its commitment to providing students with the timely personalised support they need to progress and succeed while also meeting UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations. With the combined Solutionpath-Ex Libris offering—going live with a phased approach starting September 2019—Middlesex will benefit from a comprehensive system in which the Solutionpath advanced StREAM insights will draw attendance data from the student-facing app supplied by the Ex Libris campusM platform and participation and engagement data from other university systems.

The Ex Libris campusM student app is already in use at Middlesex, delivering key university services such as email, timetable information, and access to the virtual learning environment. The app is very popular with students, and now, with the addition of built-in attendance capabilities, students will be able to manage all aspects of campus life via one mobile app.

UKVI requirements to report attendance for certain cohorts of students often create a challenge for universities, which need to find a way to manage these regulations while respecting students’ personal data concerns. Using the StREAM and campusM system, Middlesex University will be able to securely capture attendance data through the mobile app and also provide information and insights to lecturers and students in support of academic success.
