Tulane University Libraries to adopt Ex Libris Alma library services platform -

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, has announced that Tulane University has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform to enable the university’s libraries to unify the management of their electronic resources and make them as easily discoverable as possible.

The COVID-19 crisis brought into sharp focus the value of the online services provided by Tulane’s libraries. Migration to the cloud-based Alma platform and its integration with the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution, which Tulane has been using for a number of years, will improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the libraries’ operations for patrons both on and off campus.

The unified Alma platform will simplify the libraries’ workflows, improve the visibility of crucial license and contractual information, and provide analytics to inform real-time, collection-related decisions. Furthermore, the platform will enable the library staff to collaborate with members of the global Alma community to share best practices and analyses.

Tulane is categorised as an ‘R1’—highest research activity—doctoral university in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and is ranked in the top 40 national universities by the US News & World Report.
