C4DISC announces community support following official launch -

The Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion in Scholarly Communications (C4DISC) has announced increased community support for its work in the three months following its official launch. C4DISC released its first call for members, partners, and volunteers on September 15, 2020, and now has three partners and 12 members.

Formal membership in C4DISC is limited to consortial groups that represent organisations, companies, or individuals whose mission is related to scholarly communications. Members are eligible to participate in the governance of the organisation.

Current members are: Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), Association of University Presses (AUPresses), Atla, Canadian Association of Learned Journals (ACRS), Council of Science Editors (CSE), CrossRef, International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE), Library Publishing Coalition (LPC), North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), and UK Serials Group (UKSG).

More information on membership eligibility can be found at https://c4disc.org/members/.

C4DISC partners are organisations that primarily represent individuals, whose business/work is related to scholarly communications, and who wish to support the work of C4DISC. Partners can participate in working groups and have a voice in C4DISC initiatives. They are publicly acknowledged on the C4DISC website and benefit from engaging with a group whose DEI goals and values align with their own. The partners are Emory University Libraries, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, and Annual Reviews.

In addition to the members and partners, C4DISC has announced that 74 organisations and institutions have now adopted C4DISC’s Joint Statement of Principles in support of improving diversity and inclusion in scholarly communications.
