OUP has reached a new milestone in digital publishing - more than 25,000 of academic research books are now available online. Now, subscribing students and researchers have immediate access to more than 850 average library shelves worth of academic content from across all disciplines via various online platforms including Oxford Medicine Online and Oxford Handbooks Online. The digital texts range from Poems That Solve Puzzles examining the history and science of algorithms, to an investigation of Renaissance intelligence networks in Venice’s Secret Service. They offer an enhanced user experience compared with physical formats with easy-to-use search and browse tools along with integrated sharing and social media tools.

In 2020, OUP has expanded Oxford Scholarship Online (OSO) to include seven new subject areas, including Archaeology, Chemistry, Clinical Medicine and Allied Health, and Environmental Science. Over 1,900 books were added to the OSO platform with pivotal works available digitally for the very first time, while key series like What Everyone Needs to Know© and Oxford World’s Classics have been made available online.
