The third Open Science FAIR (‘Fostering local and global open science communities’) is scheduled to be held from September 20 – 23, 2021.
The event aims to bring together and empower Open Science communities and services to identify common practices; to see what the best synergies are to deliver and operate services that work for many, and to bring experiences from all around the world and learn from each other.
Open science stands at a crossroads, the reinforcement of implementation and adoption is progressing, with researchers, research institutions, funding agencies, service providers and infrastructures, all engaging at various levels.
However, different models are emerging which produce a seemingly fragmented ecosystem and achieve small steps on top of the traditional scholarly communication system. In order to enable international and interdisciplinary research, it is important to ensure interoperability across communities and services, while still maintaining the ability to support the diversity of workflows and knowledge systems.
All proposals should be submitted by July 26th via the OSFAIR2021 submission system – Easychair. Speakers are also invited to submit proposals for lightning talks and demos enabling individuals, teams, and projects to showcase the latest knowledge and potential solutions to support Open Science in academic, commercial or public spheres.
Registration to OSFAIR2021 will open soon. Further details will be made available on the OSFAIR website directly.
