Royal Society of Chemistry and CzechELib consortium sign first unlimited OA agreement in the Czech Republic -

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has signed the first unlimited Open Access agreement in the Czech Republic with the CzechELib consortium, a department of the Czech Republic's National Library of Technology. The three-year agreement will allow members of CzechELib consortium to access and publish in the complete portfolio of RSC journals, without any limits.

The transformative agreement represents a shift away from traditional subscription models, enabling researchers at participating institutions to benefit from fast publication times, reduced financial and administrative burden, and a significant boost to their own profiles as scientists. The Read & Publish agreement also supports RSC's commitment to Open Access and to making high-quality research more accessible to researchers around the world.

The Royal Society of Chemistry's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Lewis, welcomed the CzechELib consortium to their growing Read & Publish community around the world, while Jiri Jirat, Head of the CzechELib National Centre, expressed satisfaction with the agreement and hopes that it will have a positive impact on all their member institutions, including the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague, which is one of the top three Czech institutions when it comes to publishing with RSC.
