FOLIO launches Orchid Release, bringing enhanced features to library services platform -

The FOLIO Open Source Community has unveiled the Orchid Release, the fifteenth named release of the library services platform (LSP). This update introduces a range of new features and improvements to acquisitions, data import, circulation, and more, enhancing the user experience for librarians using the FOLIO platform.

Librarians will benefit from several key enhancements in the Orchid Release. The "Version History" feature in acquisitions now provides a comprehensive view of edits made to Order and Order line records, enabling better tracking and management. The data import functionality now supports importing orders in MARC format, streamlining the workflow for librarians. Circulation has been updated with improvements to lost item processing fees and fines, aligning them with the actual cost incurred. Cataloging introduces manual authority control and new reporting capabilities, empowering librarians with greater control and insights. Additionally, usability enhancements have been made to agreements, improving the user interface and search functionality for the internal knowledge base.

Furthermore, the Orchid Release includes ongoing improvements to OAI-PMH, ERM, INN-Reach, bulk edits, and other platform enhancements, ensuring a comprehensive and progressive library services platform.
