Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, has announced that Duke University Libraries (Duke), one of the top ten private university library systems in the United States, has selected the cloud-based Alma library management system, and Leganto for integrated course resource lists. Duke selected Alma as the new library enterprise system because of its ability to handle the everyday work of library operations, broad interoperability with other systems, continuous development and product innovations, and proven ability to provide a high-quality user experience to library staff and patrons.
Duke, a long-time Ex Libris customer, will begin implementing Alma this fall with a focus on successfully integrating the system with their multiple technology platforms. Utilizing Alma and Leganto from the Ex Libris unified platform will help Duke University Libraries carry out their strategic plan to create platforms for scholarly engagement, teach and support emerging literacies, advance discovery, partner in research, and transform the information ecosystem.
Alma, a cloud-based library services platform, will provide Duke with a proven solution that offers flexibility. Leganto, a course reading list management system, enables instructors to create and manage course reading lists more efficiently. Leganto enables linking to library resources defined in Alma, as well as non-library resources, and delivers straightforward access to other uploaded materials.
