STM appoints Leila Jones as Director of Strategic Programmes -

The International Association of Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers (STM) has announced the appointment of Leila Jones as the Director of Strategic Programmes. In a newly established role, Leila will play a pivotal role in realizing STM's strategic goals by overseeing, coordinating, and monitoring projects and initiatives across the organization's core strategic pillars. Her responsibilities will involve close collaboration with the STM Board, committee members, staff from various functions, and external stakeholders.

With an impressive career spanning over 20 years in the scholarly publishing sector, Leila brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. Her previous 12-year tenure at Taylor & Francis encompassed diverse Editorial and Operational roles, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the industry's intricacies. Notably, since 2019, she held the position of Director of Operational Excellence at Taylor & Francis, where she effectively utilized her skills in continuous improvement and project management. During her time there, she successfully drove operational efficiencies and played an instrumental role in the establishment and leadership of a new team.

Leila's industry journey is marked by notable contributions at reputable publishing entities, including Blackwell Publishing, Elsevier, Nature Publishing Group, and Wiley. Her multifaceted background equips her with a unique perspective on the evolving landscape of scholarly communications.
