Participate in the PALOMERA Survey on Open Access Book Policies -

The PALOMERA Project (Policy Alignment of Open Access Monographs in the European Research Area) is on a mission to ensure that academic books and monographs receive the attention they deserve in the realm of Open Science and Open Access (OA) policies. As part of their endeavor, the project has initiated a survey aimed at gauging the needs, obstacles, and challenges associated with policy-making for open access books. LIBER, a partner in this project, is actively encouraging library stakeholders and the broader research community to actively participate in the survey. The insights gathered will be instrumental in crafting actionable recommendations for the advancement of open access book policies at the European, national, and institutional levels.

While academic books continue to hold a significant role in scholarly production, particularly in the social sciences and humanities, they have not always been the focal point of open access policy-making efforts. This survey represents a valuable contribution to the growing body of data in this domain. Leveraging the insights provided by survey participants, PALOMERA aims to offer practical recommendations for the development of open access book policies, encompassing the European landscape, national contexts, and individual institutions. By taking part in this survey, respondents will actively contribute to the research essential for expediting the transformation of the book market towards open access.

To share your input and insights, access the survey here. The deadline for responses is September 15, 2023.
