The MIT Press has announced the appointment of Janice Audet as its new Editorial Director, effective January 8, 2024. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Audet brings a wealth of experience in acquisitions, editorial development, and management across various publishing sectors.

Janice Audet's extensive background includes roles as Executive Editor at Basic Books and Executive Editor for Science at Harvard University Press. Her unique blend of experience in both commercial and non-profit publishing positions her as an ideal leader to spearhead The MIT Press's editorial initiatives.

Audet takes the helm from outgoing Editorial Director Gita Manaktala, who expressed confidence in Audet's ability to continue the growth of the Press's editorial program. Manaktala, transitioning to a new role as executive editor-at-large, believes Audet's leadership will contribute to the development of authoritative, in-depth content that caters to diverse readers seeking profound insights across various subject matters.
