Information professionals, it's time to answer the call and be part of shaping the future of scholarly communications! The 2024 NISO Plus Global/Online Conference invites you to propose sessions that address the most pressing priorities, concerns, and opportunities facing the information community today.
Scheduled to be held virtually on September 17–18, 2024, the NISO Plus conference provides a dynamic platform for professionals from across the globe to collaborate, share insights, and explore innovative solutions to the challenges confronting the information landscape.
Whether you're representing libraries, publishers, scholarly infrastructure and tech providers, government agencies, or any other sector within the information community, your ideas and perspectives are invaluable. Proposals from individuals at all career levels and from diverse geographical and organizational backgrounds are welcome.
The conference theme encompasses a wide array of topics, including but not limited to:
• Archiving and preservation
• Global issues in information management
• Information quality and ethics
• Research integrity and reproducibility
• Metadata standards and practices
• Metrics for evaluating scholarly impact
• Advancements in open scholarship and open access initiatives
• Identity, access, and privacy concerns in digital information ecosystems
• Building sustainable research infrastructure
• Enhancing the peer review process
• Exploring the potential of emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning in information management
Proposals that reflect a range of perspectives and acknowledge DEIA challenges and opportunities are strongly encouraged. Please include confirmed speakers or examples of individuals you plan to invite to speak, ensuring a diverse and inclusive line-up.
All sessions will consist of pre-recorded presentations (approximately 45 minutes) followed by live online audience discussions (30-45 minutes). Presentations will be recorded in August 2024.
Submit your proposal by Wednesday, May 29, to be considered for inclusion in the conference program. The NISO Plus 2024 Planning Committee will review all submissions and notify participants of their decisions by June 21.
