Three nursing training courses from Children’s Hospital Association will now be available through Elsevier -

Elsevier Health, a global leader in medical information and data analytics, has launched new educational courses with the Pediatric Learning Solutions (PLS), a product of the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA), which has a network of over 200 children’s hospitals spanning the U.S. The courses will prepare nurses for their careers in providing care for patients in pediatric and neonatal settings.

Three CHA courses will now be available through Elsevier – Essentials of Neonatal Critical Care Orientation (ENCCO), Essentials of Pediatric Critical Care Orientation (EPCCO), and Essentials of Pediatric Acute Care Orientation (EPACO).

Caring for neonates, infants and children requires specialized education and training, with clinicians having to demonstrate not just clinical competency, but also skills in managing the emotional and cultural needs of the family. This new partnership will also allow novice nurses to access valuable content to help transition from education to clinical practice.

The courses have been developed by PLS and pediatric subject matter experts, and uniquely bridge the knowledge gap between what clinicians learn in their studies and what is expected of them in clinical practice. The three courses feature:

• CE-approved online modules comprising evidence-based, standardized content that is continually reviewed.

• Engaging content including videos, graphics, photos and illustrations.

• Case-based scenarios and practice activities.

• Valuable knowledge to prepare nurses for working in specific settings – neonatal intensive care, pediatric critical care, and pediatric acute care.

• Self-directed learning with knowledge checks and assessment questions for learners at various levels of experience.
