Dr. Daniel Geynisman named new Editor-in-Chief for JNCCN—Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network -

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) has announced Dr. Daniel M. Geynisman as the new Editor-in-Chief of JNCCN—Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Dr. Geynisman, an esteemed oncologist, and researcher, will take the helm of the high-impact oncology research journal beginning in June 2024.

Dr. Geynisman currently serves as the Chief of the Division of Genitourinary Medical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematology/Medical Oncology. He brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications and served as the medical oncology section editor for Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations since 2018.

Dr. Geynisman has a longstanding relationship with NCCN, contributing significantly to its mission of improving cancer care. He is a member of the NCCN Guidelines Panels for both Testicular Cancer and Wilms Tumor, has reviewed abstracts for the NCCN Annual Conference, and has served on various NCCN grant selection committees. His contributions have been recognized through NCCN research grants awarded by the Oncology Research Program (ORP). Additionally, he has served as an ad hoc reviewer for prestigious journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, European Urology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Cancer.

Dr. Geynisman will succeed Dr. Margaret Tempero, who has served as Editor-in-Chief of JNCCN since its inception. Under Dr. Tempero’s leadership, the journal has made significant strides in emphasizing molecular medicine, health services research, and cancer care principles. Her tenure saw several redesigns of the journal, both digitally and in print, and a shift towards more streamlined online content. Dr. Tempero now leads the Cancer Early Detection Initiative (CEDI) at UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her legacy and achievements are highlighted in the March issue of JNCCN.

As the new Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Geynisman aims to continue the journal's tradition of excellence while integrating his vision for future advancements. JNCCN remains dedicated to publishing the highest quality original research in health services, outcomes, quality improvement, and policy. It also serves as a trusted resource for information on the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®).
