In a landmark move for academic publishing in the region, the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has entered into its first read and publish agreement with Elsevier, a global leader in research publishing and information analytics. This pioneering three-year agreement, which commenced in January 2024, is set to significantly enhance the accessibility and visibility of UAEU's scholarly work.
Under this transformative agreement, UAEU researchers will gain comprehensive access to Elsevier’s extensive range of journals available on the ScienceDirect platform. In addition, corresponding authors affiliated with UAEU will be able to publish their research in select Elsevier journals as open access, without the burden of article processing charges. This arrangement is poised to amplify the global reach and impact of the university’s research outputs.
